The Deportations-July 16,1942

Dear Diary,
The Nazis have arrived again and are beginning to come to Warsaw in groups of hundreds again to threaten our people. Many of the Jews including myself and my family have gone into hiding because we know the horrible things that they could do to each and every one of us. The many unfortunate who did not have enough time to go into hiding where are taken away by force by the Nazis and some probably to send a message where shot right there in the ghetto where everyone could see. 3 days my parents where taken right in front of my eyes the Nazis came and took my mother and father but luckily my brother and I managed to stay unseen so the Nazis could not get either one of us. The Nazis have mostly gone away and from the looks of the ghetto almost all of the remaining citizens are in there late teens or in there twenties which could be a good thing in case of a revolt against the Nazis. Now after the Nazis have come the estimated amount of people either killed or taken is around 300,000 people. More than three quarters of the people where taken and the deaths from starvation and disease are gaining rapidly causing the people in the community to diminish constantly. The Germans just wont stop but now we have a reason to fight back and the next time that they come we assure them that they will not be as lucky and unopposed as this time.
