Dear Diary,
A few days ago the Germans came to Warsaw here in Poland and old all of the Jewish residents to move into a ghetto. The Germans with orders from there generals where told to put all of the Jews together with a 10-foot fence around the entire ghetto which was about 1.3 miles from one side to the other, this was so that there would be no communication or activity between the outside of the ghetto and the inside. The threats that they make, cause us to think of all of the horrible things they could do. The only no so horrible thing is that up to this point the Nazis have not been ordered to take many people so the families are mostly still together. My family which includes my brother 2 years younger than myself, my father who is quickly maturing and needs a lot of medication and my mother which is a bit more healthy, we are some of the more than 400,000 Jews in this ghetto of not much larger than a mile and a quarter. We all know in this ghetto that it will be hard but we all hope and dream of the day that we are all free once again. The food here in the ghetto is not a lot the amount of calories we get daily is barley over 1000 we are struggling but we are grateful that we are at least in better conditions than those of the men and women in those horrible concentration camps.
