The Soviets Come to the Rescue-August 2,1944

The Soviets are on there way to Warsaw to help all of the people who are left in the ghetto or around the ghetto so that they will be freed from the German forces. The German forces are very weak and it seems like they will put up no resistance against the Soviets and hopefully we will all be freed in a short amount of time. The Germans chances of winning the war are very slim and we know that because we have witnessed many Nazis have to leave from protecting the ghetto and there seems to be very few of them left and the soviets are coming with all of there army. Later.... The Soviets have arrived and are killing the few German forces left and we are sure that it will not take long and the quickness and easiness that the Soviets are winning could mean that the war might already be decided and over. After eating basically nothing for the last months but the small portions smuggled and the few edible plants that grow the deaths of people are extreme and life's are ending everyday and we must soon get enough food to save everyone left or all of this resistance and will power will be have worth nothing. We hope that all Jewish people will be able to live a better life and never in the future generations will they have to experience the inhumane and horrible treatments that we have gone through.

Germans Destroy the Ghetto-May 16,1943

Dear Diary,
For days our people have become more and more worried of all of the destruction that could happen in this ghetto in the next days. The Germans are showing no sign of any mercy and are attacking our forces with thousands, we have few amounts of soldiers left and it will be hard if not impossible for us to win this now. No one talks of this everyone says that the resistance will be successful and that the Jewish forces will soon be victorious but it is clear in there faces the look of sadness and of fear. Later that evening... Today marked the end, the synagogue was burned and the destruction of the buildings has begun. The deportations look too be the ends because this time they are taking every single person in the ghetto to extermination or concentration camps. The Jews are using the same tactics of not going outside for nothing too not be seen by anybody, my brother and I are one of those in hiding. General Stroop the leader of this operation here in Warsaw has gotten furious and is telling every single one of his soldiers to burn down every single building to force everyone out of hiding. The people who did go outside where taken to forced labor or extermination camps. I was one of the luck less than 11,000 of the original 400,000 people to escape the Warsaw Ghetto in this last attack by the Nazis. Us few survivors are living the in the outskirts of Warsaw hoping to survive.

The Return of the Germans-April 20,1943

Dear Diary,
The Nazi's are once again outside of the limits of these walls that enclose us from the outside world with there usual threats to invade our small ghetto. They have repeatedly began to say that this time they are going to enter and they are going to eliminate every single one of us so that we will no be able to escape. The food being smuggled into the ghetto is very minimal causing many many of our fellow Jewish citizens to die from starvation here in the ghetto this has become such a huge problem that people are dying from starvation more than they are from the actual battles with the Nazis. The food being consumed by most people here in the ghetto is about 10% of the food that is normally given to people to survive, this leaving us with maximum some bread to eat. These food shortages have occasionally started fights between some the residents of the ghetto but we have thought them that if we want to overcome all obstacles we need to all work together to overcome our war with the Germans. Some try to steal food from each other but instead of fights we try and work everything out so everyone knows crime will not be permitted but we to not too severely hurt those who commit the crime because we know that the less people that we have the harder that the task will become to overcome the Germans. The problems beginning to spark will no be enough for us resistors to be brought down and we promise all Germans that we shall be victorious.

The Massacre-January 22,1943

Dear Diary,
Today the people have all agreed that the only way to stop the Germans from continuing the deportations is to fight back. Yesterday the Germans committed a horrible act by joining over 1000 Jews in the middle of the town just to line them all up and shot them one at a time just so everybody could see there suffering and the suffering and so that they themselves suffered simply looking at what was happening. From afar I could see there faces many of those faces I recognized some of those faces I had even know very well in the ZOB and we where friends. The gunshots and the blood made it seem like one of the most horrific events I had seen it hurt anyone who saw this deeply inside. I am a member of the ZOB and I know that our organization will do as much as we can to help protect our people and stop any of this type of event again. In this most recent coming of the German soldiers they have killed over 5,000 people and the worst part is that they do nothing to the bodies they just leave them in the middle of the streets. You

Great Victory-January 11,1943

Dear Diary,
It is morning the Germans are getting weaker and weaker today might finally be the day that we defeat them or at least win an important battle. The shooting here in the ghetto is so loud and so non-stop that it has began to be almost impossible for anyone to be calm or even to sleep. The Nazi solders by far have better weapons with more range and power but they do no have they will to be victorious or at least no as much as us. The Nazis have begun coming in more and more each day, but we have begun with a lot smarter strategies than just going out and killing we have begun to fight back harder and harder each day hoping to gain as much as we can for our people. In the talks of the citizens there is word that they believe that it will never end but we assure them that we will fight back to prevail. Later that afternoon.... The Germans are backing up all of there weapons and supplies and are beginning to retreat leading to a victory that will be great in our aspirations to overcome there attacks. Now that the Germans are retreating we will be in a moderate peace at least for now.

The Resistance is Coming-January 6, 1943

Dear Diary,
The country is little by little being torn apart and falling more. Today one week after the Germans have begun their attack we now have enough people to make our attack. People have really begun to support the ZOB and find it as a way that this resistance could work. I have become a great friend with the higher authorities in this ZOB which is a good thing so I can get a better position so that I can lead all of the people who have suffered. My brother who is not much younger than me has also received a chance to gain an opportunity to be one of the proud ZOB who fight not just for war but to protect everyone that they care about. Being a high officer in the ZOB could be very important if the case came that we where to be victorious we would be remembered forever as the people who inspired the Jewish people everywhere to get into a resistance and overcome the attacks of the Nazis who are trying to defeat us day after day.

The Next Invasion-The December 17 1943

Dear Diary,
The Germans have began threatening our country and just began their invasion. Our countries army is not too powerful and we are being defeated extremely fast. We are tired and our leaders are beginning to talk about a rebellion to try to hold back the Nazis here in Warsaw. I think that it would probably be the best idea because we must protect our country so we can not just stand here and do nothing. Our men may not be many but with a superb leader and all of the smart people it may just be enough to resist. The problems here in this ghetto are very grave and the people are not receiving much from the outside world. Our people can not stand much more of these defeats but we must fight back against them if we wish to be free. Hitler is attacking our country a lot more frequently and is determined too overcome he is extremely power hungry and will be hard to take down. He must be stopped, we in Warsaw are very smart and have great ideas on how we can rebel against the Germans but we will need many more people to help with the resistance if we want to have the man power to defeat them. We will at least need time for other countries to be able to come and help us defeat the Germans.
